On April 15. 2024 at 12:51 p.m., Belleville Police received a call from a female advising that her ex-partner was trying to steal her dog.
During the altercation, the male grabbed the female victim by the neck.
Police attended the east end residence and spoke to the involved parties. As a result, police arrested a 40-year-old Belleville man for assault.
The male was later released on an undertaking with a court date in May.
The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
