Belleville Fire says the cause of a house fire in Thurlow ward is undetermined due to the state of the building.
Belleville firefighters were called out to the blaze at 3:26 a.m Monday.
Crews responded to a bungalow at 587 Harmony Road, across from Harmony Public School.
The Tyendinaga Fire Department was called in for tanker support.
Flames spread from the attic through the roof and into the garage.
The house and the garage were ultimately destroyed.
There were no reports of injury.
The fire was deemed under control around 7:15 a.m.
Damage is estimated to be at least half a million dollars.
Harmony Public School was closed on Monday due to the nature of the smoke making its way to the school.
A note has been sent saying that the school will open as usual on Tuesday.
