The Cougars launched into an explosive first period with three unanswered goals, before settling into a deadlocked and scoreless second period. During the third period, the Cougars and Golden Hawks took turns scoring goals, with the Cougars scoring first. While the Golden Hawks got on the board with two goals, the Cougars took three more to maintain their lead and win the game.
The Golden Hawks still lead their playoff series, 3-2. A win on Sunday for the Golden Hawks would end the series and send the Golden Hawks to the league championship against the Collingwood Blues.
