Correctional Service Canada says 70-year-old Gary Nishikawara died while in the custody of Millhaven Institution’s Regional Treatment Centre.
At the time of death, Nishikawara has been serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder which began on October 12, 2023.
Next of kin for the inmate have been notified.
The CSC says further information about the cause of death is not available at this time.
