Kids Got Talent is set to take place at the Empire Theatre on April 21.
The annual event is run by Children’s Safety Village Belleville.
There will be 20 acts from kids aged 6-17 this year.
Executive Director of the Children’s Safety Village Belleville, Bill Glisky, says a total of 35 kids will be performing.
“They are in three divisions and it is going to be very entertaining. Very competitive,” Glisky tells Quinte News. “I had a chance to see most of the auditions and there are a lot of talented young people in the Quinte area.”
There will be a different range of musical acts in the show.
“We have a lot of singers and a lot of very good singers we have,” Glisky says.
“We have a number of dance troupes, we have two teams from Quinte Ballet School that’ll be competing. We have a tap dancer, which I don’t know if we’ve had a tap dancer before.”
Glisky says there will also be some kids playing instruments at this year’s event including a piano, electric guitar and the ukulele.
“(It’s) sort of everything else you might see on a variety show or on America’s Got Talent, you will see on Sunday April 21.”
Money raised from the event goes back into the Children’s Safety Village Belleville.
“It goes to help us keep the lights on, keeps the doors open, helps us do our programming and basically helps us continue to help kids in this area learn how to be safe,” Glisky said.
Tickets for kids are $10, adult tickets are $20 and there is a VIP option for $30 that gives access to the upstairs lounge at the Empire Theatre.
