Prince Edward County is preparing for a second public information session to be held in regards to the Regional Water Servicing Master Plan.
The session is scheduled to take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at the Wellington and District Community Centre.
Both Picton and Wellington are projected to see major population growth in the next 20 years, and water systems are being designed to accommodate the growing population.
Population projections for Wellington show a growth from 2,248 residents in the serviced area now to 14,500 in 20 years. Picton has 5,796 residents with water service and is expected to grow to 32,600 in that same 20-year period.
Multiple solutions are being proposed to handle the growth in these communities, with plans to retrofit or replace existing infrastructure to accommodate the growth.
