It’s certainly easier said than done, however, if you can shut down Belleville native Trevor Hoskin, you stand a good chance of shutting down the Cobourg Cougars.
Two games into the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s East Conference final the Trenton Golden Hawks have done just that.
Trenton followed up Friday’s 5-0 win in Game 1 with a solid 4-1 victory over the Cougars in Cobourg on Sunday.
David Fournier, Ryan Cutler, Adam O’Marra and Jamie Darlison scored in the win while Ben Bonisteel backed it up with 34 saves.
Game 3 is Tuesday night at 7:30 in Trenton.
In the West final, the Collingwood Blues got past the Leamington Flyers 2-1 in overtime to go up 2-0 in that series.
The winners of these series will meet for the Buckland Trophy and the right to advance to the Centennial Cup.
