The Belleville Senators defeated the division-leading Syracuse Crunch 5-2 at CAA Arena on Saturday night, holding on to sixth place in the division standings.
Garrett Pilon, Zack Ostapchuk, Lassi Thomson, and Oskar Pettersson scored for the Sens.
The Senators got off to an early lead with an unanswered first period goal. The Crunch came back in the second frame to tie the game, before two more goals by the Senators catapulted them back into the lead. A final goal from the Crunch near the end of the frame left the Senators with a slim lead going into the final period. During the third, the Senators scored two more goals to extend their lead and take the game.
The Senators are on the road for their next game on Wednesday facing the Toronto Marlies.
