There were slight increases in the national and Ontario unemployment rates last month.
However, locally the rate went down in March from February.
The national unemployment rate last month was 6.1% while the province’s was 6.7%.
Meanwhile, in the Belleville Census Metropolitan Area, which includes Belleville, Quinte West, Stirling-Rawdon, and Tyendinaga-Deseronto, unemployment dropped from 4.7% in February to 4.4% in March.
