It’s down to the final four in the Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs including the two teams that played for the championship a year ago.
But first things first.
The Trenton Golden Hawks open their East Conference final against Belleville native Trevor Hoskin and the Cobourg Cougars tonight (Friday) at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.
Trenton was was 2-1-1 against the Cougars in the regular season including a 4-4 tie the last time they met on January 15 in Cobourg.
The Golden Hawks finished first in the East during the regular season and swept their opponents in the first two rounds of the post season.
The Cougars were fifth in the East, 19 points behind Trenton, while defeating Haliburton and the Toronto Junior Canadiens in games 5 and 7 respectively.
Game two is in Cobourg Sunday afternoon then it’s back to Trenton on Tuesday night. (Full schedule below)
The West Conference final also starts tonight with the defending champion and league leading Collingwood Blues home to the Leamington Flyers.
