During Wednesday’s meeting of Quinte West Council, Colette Richardson and Sheila Callaghan gave a presentation to council about the recent efforts of Quinte West Gardens-Growing Community.
The Gardens is a community garden operated by volunteer labour, growing food which is then donated to local non-profits. There is also a bee box to promote the presence of pollinating insects.
The Gardens is located at 47 Guelph Street, and is open to the public. The grounds include a play area for kids and a quiet reading area.
Council accepted the presentation but took no action at this time.
