The month of March was warmer than usual in the Quinte region and it featured more rain and less snow than the historical average for the month.
The average high temperature was 8 degrees Celsius, double the usual high of 4 degrees. The warmest day of the month was March 13 when the mercury climbed to over 17 degrees.
As far as low temperatures are concerned, the historical average for March is minus 6 degrees but last month it was just minus 2.
Meanwhile, the region received 57 millimetres of rain in March but only 9 centimetres of snow.
Historically there’s been 24 cm of snow and 41 mm of rain.
