Sixteen-year-old centre Maddox Dagenais of the Quinte Under 16 Red Devils has been selected the OMHA East Player of the Year by the Ontario Hockey League.
Dagenais scored 42 goals and 39 asssits for 81 points in 35 regular season games for the Red Devils. He added another 17 points in 10 playoff games.
He becomes the third Red Devil in the past 10 years to win the award joining Donovan McCoy in 2020 and Brady Gilmour in 2015.
As Dagenais is from Montreal he is expected to be a first round pick in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft.
The OHL honours players from the four Ontario Hockey Federation Member partners. (OMHA – ALLIANCE – Greater Toronto Hockey League – Northern Ontario Hockey Association).
They are selected by OHL Central Scouting and a panel of OHL general managers.
