One man walked free while another is doing more jail time after a sentencing hearing on several drug and weapons charges in a Napanee courtroom last week.
In September of 2022, OPP charged 35-year-old Robert Pammett of Deseronto and 41-year-old Christopher Derrett of Belleville after a search of a residence in Deseronto.
There, officers seized cocaine, a restricted firearm, ammunition, and stolen property.
All charges against Pammett were withdrawn, however, Derrett pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 more months in jail on top of time already spent in custody. He was also handed a lifetime weapons prohibition.
