The following was sent by Lennox and Addington OPP.
Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County OPP charged two drivers with impaired driving and a third driver received a three-day suspension over the weekend.
On March 23, 2024 shortly after 7 p.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Kennebec Road in Addington Highlands Township. A vehicle was parked with the driver’s side door open and a male was laying on the ground behind the vehicle. Police attended the scene and arrested the driver for impaired driving.
As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP have charged Stephen Ryder, age 43, of Northbrook with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 9, 2024. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for seven days.
On March 24, 2024, shortly before 2 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP were conducting a mandatory alcohol screening RIDE check on Amherst Drive in Amherstview. One of the vehicle drivers, a 27-year-old male from Kingston received a three-day licence suspension for driving 50 mgs of alcohol or over.
On March 24, 2024, shortly before 4 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on its side along Highway 401 east just before the Palace Road exit. Police attended the scene and arrested the driver for impaired driving.
As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP have charged Gregory Frampton, age 60, of Hamilton with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 16, 2024. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
