Prince Edward County is reminding businesses and homeowners with alarm systems to update their providers with the new fire dispatch service number.
Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue (PECFR) will transition to a new fire dispatch service through St. Catharines Fire Services (SCFS) beginning Tuesday, March 26.
County businesses and homeowners using a security alarm system that is programmed to contact PECFR must reach out to their service provider and provide them with the new number for SCFS.
SCFS dispatch’s direct line for alarm testing and non-emergencies is 1-833-757-7539.
The 911 system within Prince Edward County has not changed.
When calling 911 for an emergency, residents will not notice any difference in service.
