Quinte West council has recognized the achievements of a local athlete in five-pin bowling at the Special Olympics.
Quinte West mayor Jim Harrison presented Matthew LeBlanc with a certificate to honour the athlete’s achievements and contributions to local sport.
LeBlanc, age 29, represented Quinte West as a member of team Ontario in the 2024 Special Olympics in Calgary.
This is Leblanc’s second time competing on the national stage, having also competed in five-pin bowling in 2018.
He placed sixth overall in the competition.
