Round 2 in the Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs will get underway this week with the field down to eight teams.
The Trenton Golden Hawks will play the Toronto Junior Canadiens with Game 1 expected to take place Friday night at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.
The full schedule is expected to be released today (Mon).
The G-Hawks finished first in the East Conference during the regular season and are coming off a four-game sweep of Stouffville while the sixth place Junior Canadiens completed a five-game win over the Wellington Dukes.
The other Eastern semi-final has Belleville’s Trevor Hoskin and the Cobourg Cougars playing the St. Mike’s Buzzers.
In the West the league-leading and defending champion Collingwood Blues play Oakville while Milton takes on Leamington.
Frankford 4 Napanee 3 o.t.
In Junior C playoffs, Jakob Gardner scored a goal with two assists to lead the Frankford Huskies to a win over the Napanee Raiders 4-3.
Gardner tied the game with 1:17 left in regulation.
Joey Coates scored the overtime winner.
The Huskies take a 2-1 lead in the series. Game 4 is Tuesday night in Napanee.
