A Belleville man faces serious charges after speeding and almost hitting several pedestrians in the city’s east end early Saturday.
Police spotted the vehicle at 3 o’clock in the morning and tried to stop it but the driver ignored police.
Later officers located the vehicle in the downtown area and arrested 25-year-old Matthew Benn.
He was charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, and other Highway Traffic Act offenses. He has a court date next month.
