G-Hawks lead 2-0 while Dukes split with Jr. Canadiens

The Trenton Golden Hawks are halfway to Round 2 of the Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs.
Lucas LaPalm scored two goals and an assist and Adam O’Marra added three assists as Trenton routed the Spirit 6-2 in Stouffville. That gives the Golden Hawks a 2-0 lead in their East Conference quarter final.
Matthew Lee, Owen Wilson, David Fournier and Thomas Kuipers rounded out the scoring for Trenton.
Game 3 is Tuesday night at 7:30 at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.

Toronto 4 Wellington 1

In Toronto the Junior Canadiens jumped out to a 3-0 lead which was more than enough in a 4-1 win over the Wellington Dukes. That squares that series at a win each.
Connor Hunt scored the Dukes lone goal.
It’s back to Wellington for Game 3 Tuesday night at 7.

Huskies-Raiders series set

Round two of the Provincial Junior C Hockey League post season begins Tuesday night in Frankford.  The Huskies, who had a first round bye will host the Napanee Raiders at 8:20.
Frankford hasn’t played since February 24 while the Raiders are coming off a six-game first-round win over the Picton Pirates.
