Homestead Marketplace continues to roll out their major development at the corner of Glen Miller Road and Hwy 401 on Douglas Road in Quinte West.
Beaver Tails and Wheels & Waves are cutting ribbons this weekend.
Homestead Marketplace will have more than 200 jobs across their different businesses.
Homestead Marketplace houses Contrast Media, the Factory Store, Beaver Tails, Leon’s Superstore, Custom Carts, Wheels and Waves, Shoeless Joe’s, Anytime Fitness, Six Douglas Tire & Battery, Eggsmart, Freshi, and Homestead Adventure Park (outdoor high ropes course, high-end mini putt golf course). There will also be a hotel on the property, along with a testing track.
Onwer Mike Eden says it has been a labour of love.
“Five years into this project, we couldn’t be prouder. It wouldn’t have happened without the support of the community, with support of huge number of local contractors and trades people to get this over the finish line.”
Eden says it takes a small army to do what has been done in Quinte West.
He says the Homestead umbrella is a collection of businesses for your home.
“We want global brands, world class brands. We want them all under one roof, where families can come and not only shop for the things they need for their homestead, but also enjoy time with their family with our events, the food options that are coming, it’s just going to be a great environment when we get it all finished.”

“We’ve been looking at this on a piece of paper for so many years. We’re anxious to see reactions from people and it’s been tremendous. From excitement for the facility itself, to the excitement of its visual off the 401 and introducing Trenton to passerbys.”
