Empire Square Live 2024 has officially been announced.
The Empire Theatre says this year’s outdoor concerts are slated for Thursday July 18, Friday July 19, and Saturday July 20.
The first evening will be when country music returns to the square with Dallas Smith. The multi-Juno award winner is arguably the biggest name in the active Canadian country music scene.
Joining Smith will be Aaron Prichett, and CJBQ’s own Robyn Scott.
Owner Mark Rashotte says there has been a big push for country music by fans.
“We have Dallas Smith. One of the top country folks in the country right now and he’s going to be in together with Aaron Prichett.”
Rashotte says Friday night is for the ladies.
“The Beaches have gone through the roof over this last few years and they are everywhere. Sold out two shows at Massey Hall in November, they were on Jimmy Kimmel a couple of weeks ago.”
Also on the docket Friday are Dizzy and Kingston’s Luscious.
Rashotte says Saturday night is the east coast kitchen party.
“One of the all-time favourites, both inside and outside is Alan Doyle. Great Big Sea fame before, but he has eclipsed that himself . His solo career has been so great.”
With Alan Doyle with Matt Andersen and The Big Little Bottle of Joy, will be Belleville’s Dead Root Revival.
