A Peterborough man faces several charges including assault with a weapon following an incident involving a hatchet in the Havelock area.
Peterborough County OPP allege that during the March 1 incident, an individual had been screaming at people, became involved in an altercation and spat on a person.
The accused then picked up a hatchet and waved it around before throwing it away at which point it caused damage to a residence.
One person was arrested at the scene.
Frederick Fox, 31, is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, two counts of mischief under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and causing a disturbance.
