Existing small businesses in Northumberland can apply for a micro grant of up to $3,000 through the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN) Starter Company Growth Program to help grow their business. Successful applicants will also receive training, advice and mentorship to support business owners in achieving their goals.
The BECN is Northumberland’s leading source for business information, strategy, resources and education. They provide free resources and programming to support entrepreneurs and small business owners in Northumberland, including several business development and growth programs. Through these programs, business owners can grow their skills and access micro grants, networking opportunities and more.
The Starter Company Growth Program has two program channels – one to support new businesses and one for existing businesses.
Applications are currently open to existing full-time small businesses that have been in operation for six months or more in Northumberland County. Business owners are invited to submit their application online by April 3, 2024. Please note spaces in the program are limited. Applying to the Starter Company Growth Program is a competitive process and not all applicants will receive a grant fund. Successful applicants will begin their training in May.
Applications for the Starter Company Growth Program for New Businesses concluded in the fall of 2023. Entrepreneurs interested in applying to receive support to launch a new business are invited to contact the BECN for planning support and educational opportunities.
