The Community Development Council of Quinte (CDC Quinte) is now taking registrations for the 2024 Community Garden Program. They currently have 158 raised beds available in seven different locations in Belleville and they have one location in Frankford as well. Registration is free on a first come basis and open to anyone who would like the opportunity to grow their own produce.
Participation in the Community Garden Program helps increase access to affordable fresh vegetables, offers a sense of community, is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air, and offers a connection to the environment.
The CDC Quinte Community Garden Coordinator, Jim Mallabar says, “CDC is excited to be opening the Community Gardens for 2024. Last year the Community Garden Program impacted more than 1,500 people.”
