Arrested on Warrant
On March 4, 2024 at 7:25 p.m., the Belleville Police Service learned that a neighbouring police service had arrested 63-year-old Cheryl Jackson of Belleville on the strength of an arrest warrant held by the Belleville Police Service. The warrant was for theft under $5000. Following the arrest, Jackson was released on an undertaking with a court date in March.
Arrested on Warrant
On March 4, 2024 at 3:45 p.m., while on patrol in the area of Station Street and Burrell Street, police observed a male who was known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with the Belleville Police Service for charges of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and five counts of failing to comply with a release order. Police arrested the 35-year-old Belleville man, Paul Nixson on the strength of the outstanding warrant and transported him to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail.
Stunt Driving
On March 5, 2024 at 3:29 a.m., a Belleville police officer on patrol observed a transport truck and trailer travelling at 95km/h in a posted 50km/h community safety zone on Cannifton Rd. The transport truck was stopped and the driver was identified as a 26-year-old driver from Brampton. The driver was charged with stunt driving and their driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days. The tractor portion of the transport was impounded for 14 days. The trailer was released from the scene.
