A once-in-a-lifetime event is drawing nearer and communities and organizations in the area are making preparations.
On Monday afternoon of April 8, a total solar eclipse will occur and some parts of our area near Lake Ontario will be in what’s known as the Path of Totality briefly bringing complete darkness.
The rare celestial event will draw thousands of people to this region.
Northumberland County officials have created a special website offering information on how to safely view an eclipse and advice on how to prepare and plan ahead.
