A woman faces a domestic assault charge after a serious incident on Front Street in Belleville early Sunday morning.
Police and Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services responded when a security guard called after witnessing a woman hitting a man several times.
When emergency responders arrived both the man and woman were injured and bleeding.
A 39 year old Belleville woman was charged. Her name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
