A person from Markham has been charged with impaired driving and other charges following a RIDE stop in Prince Edward County early Sunday.
Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 near Rossmore just after midnight on Sunday and administered an approved screening device on a driver.
It was also later learned that the driver had provided a false identification.
Thirty-one-year-old Jibran Hussain is charged with:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice
Operation while prohibited
Obstruct peace officer
Failure or refusal to comply with demand.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on March 27.
The driver also had their vehicle impounded.
