Trenton Golden Hawks Captain Adam O’Marra will finish the 2023-24 season with 94 points.
In his final year with the G-Hawks he will set the record for single season points, passing Dalton Bancroft and Brady Wiffen, who finished their final seasons with 92 points.
Head Coach Derek Smith says for Adam to be mentioned in the same breath as Brady Wiffen and Dalton Bancroft, speaks to his talent, character, and leadership.
“With a storied franchise like Trenton, it’s a pretty special accomplishment for Adam to set the single season franchise record in points. He’s had a great season start to finish. He’s led on the ice, helping to establish a good culture, we wouldn’t be where we are without him. We’re super proud of him and hopefully there’s lots more left.”
O’Marra says it is an honour to hold the record with two of the greatest Trenton Golden Hawks ever. He says Wiffen and Bancroft exemplified what being a Golden Hawk was on and off the ice.
“It’s an amazing feeling. Obviously it’s nice, but our goal is to win a championship. I want to thank my teammates, they’ve made it pretty easy on me to obtain this goal. Looking forward to playoffs and like I said our main goal is to win a championship.”
Over the last 12 months O’Marra has been part of a run to the OJHL Championship Series. Last spring (22-23), he signed his NCAA D1 Commitment with Robert Morris University, and he was named the Captain of the Trenton Golden Hawks (23-24).
