A relatively new local company is expanding with some help from the provincial government.
Friday, it was announced that Tillsonburg Custom Foods would be adding 78 new jobs after an investment of $35 million in its Trenton and St. Mary’s plants.
In Trenton, Tillsonburg Custom Foods operates as Quinte Custom Foods in the former Nestle plant.
The Ontario government has added $5 million to the company’s investment through its Regional Development Program.
“With the support from the province of Ontario, Tillsonburg Custom Foods will remain a leader in the nation’s food processing
sector and add to our capabilities to make butter tarts, meat pies, appetizers and fully cooked products for both domestic customers and the
export market,” said President Ed Lamers.
“Our region has a long history of growing and processing food, and I’m pleased our government’s Regional
Development Program is supporting owners of Tillsonburg Custom Foods to expand operations and build on
that tradition by creating a sister brand, Quinte Custom Foods. They’re bringing new life to a landmark Quinte
West facility,” said Bay of Quinte riding MPP Todd Smith.
