Correctional Service Canada made two different seizures at area institutions this week.
At Joyceville Institution on Tuesday, vigilant staff members were able to locate a package of unauthorized items.
Items seized included tobacco. Estimated value of the items seized is $14,000.
A few days later at Collins Bay Institution, staffers located a package containing contraband and unauthorized items.
Among the items seized were an edged weapon, cell phones and accessories. Approximate value is $10,500.
In both instances, the CSC says it has “heightened measures to prevent contraband and unauthorized items from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.”
