OPP say there is no concern for public safety after receiving multiple reports of a number of people taking part in threats as well as having a potential firearm in Campbellford.
At around 9:35 p.m. on Thursday, Northumberland OPP, with help from Peterborough OPP, responded to two calls from people involved in an incident taking place at a commercial building on Bridge Street.
Due to the immediate threat, police say they completed a safe and effective high-risk response without any incident.
An investigation revealed that occupants in two vehicles were in a verbal altercation with each other. Investigators do not believe a firearm was involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
