Downtown culprit caught
A smashed window of a downtown business led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man, early Thursday.
Officers were called to the business around 1:20 a.m. following an altercation inside involving a customer. During the incident, the customer smashed a window and left the scene.
Police located the suspect nearby and he was arrested without incident.
Charged with mischief under $5,000 is Brad Barriage of no fixed address. Barriage was released from custody on an undertaking with an April 4, 2024 court date.
Parking lot arrest
A 41-year-old city man was charged after a traffic stop ended in a parking lot in the west end, Thursday.
Around 10 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Moira Street West and spoke with the motorist. Following an investigation, it was determined the driver was on conditions stemming from impaired driving charges not to be behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.
Charged with failing to comply with an undertaking is Morgan Blenkhorn, 41, of Belleville. Blenkhorn was released from custody with an April 4, 2024 court date.
