Members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police were able to locate multiple pieces of stolen property in Prince Edward County.
The search began on February 7, 2024.
Police say the items were part of multiple break and enters from Central Hastings, Prince Edward County, and Lennox and Addington detachment areas.
As a result of the search, the following items were seized:
- 2008 Honda all terrain vehicle (ATV)
- 2002 Honda off-road motorcycle
- Two KTM 2020 off-road motorcycles
- 2014 KTM off-road motorcycle
- 2010 Yamaha ATV
- 2021 Yamaha ATV
- Kubota riding lawnmower
- Chainsaws
- Generators
- Other power tools
Twenty-six-year-old Steven Courneyea of Belleville was charged with the following:
- Two counts of theft over $5000,
- Four counts of break, enter a place – commit indictable offence,
- Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Four counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a future date.
