A Peterborough man has been charged after an impaired driving incident that resulted in a car driving into a house.
Northumberland OPP responded to a call just before 1 a.m. on Saturday after the vehicle struck a home on North Front Street in Campbellford.
After speaking to the driver, an impaired-driving investigation began and the driver was arrested. During the investigation, it was found that the driver did not have permission to use the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old David Quackenbush of Peterborough has been charged with the following charges:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while prohibited
· Take motor vehicle without consent
· Careless Driving
· Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
· Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
· Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
