Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions Michael Tibollo will be in Belleville Thursday for a meeting with Mayor Neil Ellis as the city continues to look for answers to solve its homelessness and addiction crisis.
Belleville police, Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services and other social service organizations will also be at the meeting which comes after the mayor earlier this week asked the province for $2 million to get a combined homelessness, addictions and mental health resource centre up and running at 1 Alhambra Square.
Mayor Ellis also asked for funding to establish a detox centre.
On Tuesday, Premier Doug Ford said the province would support Belleville with funding but did not provide details.
