Arrested on Warrant
On February 12, 2024 at 7:55 p.m., an officer patrolling on Bridge St. East recognized a male who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court. As a result, the officer arrested the 39-year-old male on the strength of the warrant. The male was held for a bail hearing.
Arrested for threats
On February 12, 2024 at 1:43 p.m., Belleville police received a call from a female who was receiving messages from a person who was threatening to attend her residence and cause bodily harm to her and her family. The threats were from a relative. As a result of the police investigation, a 20-year-old male from Belleville was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death. The male was later released on an undertaking with a court date in March. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
