Belleville police have arrested a woman of no fixed address after a series of garbage can or garbage bin fires Monday evening along Front Street downtown.
The fires occurred around 7:30 and the fire department put them out quickly.
Police used video footage from downtown cameras to identify a suspect and at around 8 o’clock located a 50-year-old woman and charged with her with four counts of mischief and breaching probation.
She was held for a bail hearing.
Meanwhile, the fire department was called out again early Tuesday morning to put out a couple of garbage can fires near the downtown area.
It’s not known if there were any arrests made in those incidents.
