There was a big grass fire in Prince Edward County Sunday.
Five acres of a field off Highway 49 went up in flames around 11:30 in the morning.
Picton and Sophiasburg fire halls were called out and worked for over three hours to douse the flames.
Crews had trouble getting to the fire due to muddy conditions in the field.
Fire Chief Chad Brown reminds residents that a burn permit is required before any outdoor burning takes place.
