The provincial Special Investigations Unit is investigating after an OPP officer shot and injured a 28-year-old man at a residence in Northumberland County this morning.
The SIU released some details of the encounter. According to the SIU report, at close to 1 a.m., police attended a residence after a 911 call was received relating to domestic violence. The man reportedly had a gun. After police arrived, the man shot at police, and an officer shot the man. He was then taken to hospital for treatment.
The SIU is asking anyone who may have information about the incident to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
