Belleville police responded to 75 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on February 7, 2024 to 5 a.m. on February 8, 2024.
Breach of Probation
On February 7, 2024 at 3:46 p.m., officers from the Community Response Unit were in the downtown core when they observed a male known to them who was breaching his probation conditions. Todd MacDonald, 52 years old of Belleville, was in the presence of a person which he was on conditions not to associate with. MacDonald was arrested and charged by police for failing to comply with his probation conditions. He was later released on an undertaking with a court date in March.
Overdoses
Emergency services including police, fire and EMS responded to five reported overdoses between 10 a.m. and midnight on February 7, 2024. One of the overdoses was in the downtown core, two were near an address on Bridge St East, one was reported near Campbell St. and the fifth was at an address on George St. All five people were transported to the hospital by EMS. There were no reported deaths.
