Quinte West OPP have laid charges following a fraud complaint in Quinte West.
Tuesday officers received a call about a person attempting to fraudulently purchase tires from a dealership on Highway 33.
When he was confronted by staff, he took off.
Police located him a short distance away.
Twenty-four-year-old Jonathan Bergeron-Ampleman has been charged with fraud over and under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a credit card, and failure to comply with a probation order.
He is in court Wednesday.
