A friendly battle is brewing for the top job in a small Newfoundland town.
It is between a local man and one of Hollywood’s biggest late night hosts.
This past fall, Quinte West resident Todd Cole and his wife Sara (Stein) visited “The Rock”, including the community of Dildo, 100 kilometres west of St John’s.
TV host Jimmy Kimmel has claimed the honourary mayoral job, however in a social media post, Cole told him he would run against him.

Kimmel even made a spoof political ad to fight back against Cole.
“Todd owns and operates a sign rental company that uses illegal dog labour to do spell check.”

Cole says Kimmel’s team reached out to him last week and since the show aired, it has been hectic.
“They reached out, said they’d like to do something. Didn’t say what they were going to do. Last Wednesday (Jan 24) it aired. They contacted me that day of it went on air.”
Cole says he has done interviews coast-to-coast and internationally.

Cole says the friendly fight is not over and he will battle Kimmel to take control of Dildo’s top job.
