The following was submitted by Northumberland OPP.
On January 27, 2024 at approximately 9 a.m., an officer from the Northumberland OPP was on patrol on County Road 25 when an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) notification was received in relation to a vehicle with expired plates.
Upon speaking with the occupants, police entered into a suspended driver investigation and a search led to the seizure of drugs suspected to be 20 grams of cocaine.
Chrissy Arnold, 30 years old from Tweed, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Driving while under suspension – two counts.
Christina Osvald, 46 years old from Bancroft, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of traffick ing – cocaine
- Permit use of plate not authorised for vehicle.
The total street value of the seized drugs is approximately $2000.
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
