Members of the Prince Edward County OPP charged an individual with impaired over the weekend.
On January 26, 2024 shortly before 10 p.m. officers were conducting a RIDE program on County Road 4. A vehicle entered the program and officers spoke with the driver. An approved screening device was administered and the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.
Lucas Shuttleworth, age 24 from Belleville was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on February 14, 2024.
The driver had his licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven.
