Tweed council passed its 2024 budget as presented on Wednesday.
The budget shows a 17.8 per cent tax increase.
As an example, municipal taxes would go up $121 for each $100,000 of a property’s assessed value.
Tweed Mayor Don DeGenova has told Quinte News that the high increase is for council to play catch-up for past years.
