Quinte West City Council has entered an Automated Road Patrol Agreement with IRIS R&D Group.
The agreement will last one year and cost $84,120 annually plus HST.
According to a report, IRIS’s Automated Road Patrol helps municipalities continuously monitor and repair road defects including potholes and cracks, and detect damaged or missing roadway assets like traffic signs, street lights, pavement markings and even graffiti.
The City of Quinte West has been piloting the program over a three-month stretch with consultants working to tweak the program over time.
That integration period cost the City of Quinte West $39,928.04.
