On January 23, 2024 at 10:05 p.m., as a result of a Controlled Drug and Substances Act trafficking investigation in the City of Belleville, members of Project Renewal, the Belleville Police K9 and Emergency Response Unit conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Sidney St. and Dundas St. West. The traffic stop resulted in the following items being seized:
• Cocaine – 73.6 grams
• Fentanyl – 31.4 grams
• Methamphetamines – 0.3 grams
• six Percocets
• Canadian currency $1385
• American currency $85
• four cellular devices
• Pepper spray
• Drug paraphernalia
The investigation resulted in the following charges:
Temar Stevens, 25 years old of Scarborough was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Breach of Release Order – Fail to reside with Surety
- Breach of Probation x 3
Stevens was held for a bail hearing.
Daniel Persaud, 43 years old of Belleville was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine.
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Breach of Probation
Persaud was held for a bail hearing
Jeffrey Bird, 54 years old of Belleville was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamines
- Possession of property obtained by crime
Bird was released on an undertaking with a February court date.
