Almost $400,000 worth of contraband and unauthorized items have been seized over the last two weeks from Collins Bay Institution in Kingston.
The Correctonal Service of Canada (CSC) reports the $385,000 worth of items seized included tobacco, marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, shatter (cannabis concentrate), drug paraphernalia, stabbing weapons, as well as cell phones and accessories.
CSC uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions including ion scanners and detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors.
It did not say if any charges have been laid in relation to the seizures.
